HOW DO I GET TO THE ATLANTIS OFFICE?

The Atlantis office is located north of the International Pier, across the street from the Casa Del Mar Hotel.
There are three major cruise ports in Cozumel plus one passenger port for the ferry to and from Playa del Carmen:

from TMM International Pier – 5 min walk / 350 meters –
All Royal Caribbean ships such as Liberty of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas arrive at the TMM International Pier. From here it’s about a five to ten-minute taxi ride into the heart of Cozumel city.

from Puerta Maya – 9 min walk / 750 meters –
Puerta Maya is the port furthest south from downtown Cozumel, a.k.a. San Miguel de Cozumel. If you’re traveling on Carnival Dream, Carnival Triumph or any other of the Carnival ships, this is where you’ll dock.

You can also check the interactive map – HERE –

from Punta Langosta – 11 min Drive / 4.3 Km
Norwegian Cruise Liners, the German-based Mein Schiff (TUI) and MSC all dock at Punta Langosta, which is just a short ten-minute walk from the main area of downtown Cozumel.

from the ferry terminal – 12 min Drive / 4.8 km –
which is conveniently located just steps away from the downtown district, offers hourly services to visit nearby Playa del Carmen — just a 45-minute ferry ride from Cozumel.

I AM CLAUSTROPHOBIC; CAN I GO ON THE SUBMARINE TOUR?

Yes, and it may help you with this problem. Persons with claustrophobia, who have gone on the submarine, report being surprised that you tend to focus out through the viewport into the wide open ocean space rather than inside the submarine of itself.

Unlike on an aircraft where the windows are high and you cannot see anything interesting outside for most of the trip, in the submarine, you sit facing the window and there are viewports all around and a large view port in front of the pilot that all can see out.

The submarine is a large vessel that can accommodate up to 48 passengers comfortably. You can stand, sit and walk into and out of the submarine very easily.

Take a look at the inside of the Atlantis TSXII through the pictures of our passengers, and see for yourself!!

IS THE SUBMARINE TOUR SAFE?

Atlantis Cozumel was established in June 28th 1999 and has had no incidents. We are certified by American Bureau of Shipping standards annually. All systems on the submarine are duplicated and the vessel floats to the surface when it is not powered.

There is a surface control vessel that stays with the submarine through out the tour and is in constant communication. We are proud of our highly professional staff, who are drug and alcohol free based on our random drug testing program.

Our safety audits and stringent requirements for insurance purposes are a check and balance as we report conformance to all standards to our head office and insurers.

I FIND THE SUBMARINE TOUR TO BE EXPENSIVE...

Atlantis is not a cheap tour, we agree but it offers excellent quality due to its uniqueness, high tech nature and professionalism. To be taken underwater we must be in a highly sophisticated and safe vessel.

Atlantis offers a number of discounted rates for children, teens; families, honeymooners etc, so we can work out a deal for you. Our customers say that they will definitely recommend the tour to others and that it was worth it.

IS THERE AN AGE RESTRICTION?

No, but children should be at least three feet in height, since the safety equipment on board is not recommended for children under that height. All children meeting the height equirement (and up to 12 years old) should be paid for irrespective of age.

IS THERE AN WEIGHT RESTRICTION?

Yes, passengers with more than 220 pounds must check on weather conditions and seats available before buying the tour.

Waistline must be less than 39″   Explorers on this activity must be able to descend 7 steps backwards on their own into the vessel; hand rails available.

I AM PREGNANT; WILL I BE ABLE TO GO ON THE SUBMARINE?

Congratulations, and if you are between one to six months and not experiencing any problems, you should be fine. It would just depend on your tolerance to the motion on the shuttle boat that takes you to the submarine. Hardly any motion is felt as the submarine glides around underwater and you are sitting in air conditioned comfort.

If you are over four months and may have discomfort seated for 45 minutes and slightly leaning forward to see out the viewport you may want to consider carefully. Also, we apologize but there are no bathrooms on board.

CAN A WHEEL CHAIR GUEST OR DIFFERENTLY ABLED GUEST GO ON THE SUBMARINE?

Yes but it depends on the mobility of the individual as guests need to descend 7 steps on their own into the vessel. Permission should be obtained from Operations department through the Reservations staff and it will also be dependent on the weather and sea conditions.

DO YOU PROVIDE A SHUTTLE SERVICE?

No, we don’t provide shuttle service; transportation is available on the island by taxis.
